Promoter Information
John Guercio
I began promoting pageants in 1994. Together with a good friend I started Angel Productions. Our first production was the Miss Lorain USofA pageant This was a great success and the next year we called it the Miss Lorain/Sandusky USofA pageant due to moving the location to Sandusky, Ohio. In our second year of promoting we produced our first Miss Ohio USofA (Andria Michaels) and also the 1st Alternate (Paige Turner).
I continued promoting in the USofA system for several years winning many awards such as Promoter of the Year as well as Best City Preliminary. I then joined forces with Starmite Productions and co-produced the Miss Ohio USofA-at-Large pageant ultimately helping to create city preliminaries within this division.
In 2000, I relocated to Columbus Ohio and received a call from good friend Anthony Stanton who wanted me to come judge a new system that he had created for Male Leads called Mr. Ohio All-Star. I sat on the judges panel the 1st two years of Mr. Ohio All-Star before becoming a promoter for the system in the 3rd year of its existence.
I created Mr. Great Lakes All-Star and held this competition in Akron, Ohio at Cocktails. My first winner was Gavyn Sanchez who went on to win Mr. Ohio All-Star in 2003. This would begin a 3 year back to back amazing journey. In 2004, my Mr. Great Lakes All-Star, Phoenix Storm went on to win the title, and in 2005, I helped to produce my 3rd Mr. Ohio All-Star, Skyler Styles. For the next 7 years I continued promoting Mr. Great Lakes as well as Mr. Cleveland All-Star. Fast forwarding to 2013, 7 years since I had produced a state title holder in the All-Star System, I recruited one of the nation’s best Male Leads Izaya Cole to come compete for Mr. Great Lakes All-Star. In October 2012, Izaya went on to win Mr. Ohio All-Star giving me my 4th state title holder within the All-Star system and the 3rd Mr. Great Lakes to go on and win the title.
When Anthony Stanton came to me stating that he was ready to step down as the owner and promoter of Mr. Ohio All-Star, I knew that I wanted to take over this system and there was no hesitation in my mind about doing so. Together with my good friend Elliott Taylor, we formed All Star Productions which now produces Mr. Ohio All-Star, Mr. Ohio King All-Star and the Miss. Ohio All-Star pageants.
This endeavor rounds out 20 years of pageantry for me!!

In 2007, I met John Guercio and he told me about pageants that he was involved in. I became intrigued and eventually went with him and a good friend of ours Jim Dawson to my first pageant. I immediately fell in love with all the excitement. Over the next several years i went to many other pageants and a few years ago I was asked to judge my first pageant, the Miss Crowbar Pageant in Sandusky Ohio. Anthony Stanton then asked me to judge several pageants for him over the past couple years. I was quite impressed with the ALL-STAR system. “it felt like a family” i remember telling John. This is when I knew that I wanted to promote someday.
When Anthony Stanton came to John and I stating that he was ready to step down as the owner and promoter of the Mr. Ohio All-Star system after his 14 year run, there was no hesitation in my mind that this was our opportunity. My immediate reaction to John was simply “yes”.
Together with my dear friend John Guercio, we have formed All Star Productions which now produces Mr. Ohio All-Star, Mr. Ohio King All-Star and the newly formed Miss. Ohio All-Star pageants.
